Anyone who has worked at the Charlestown Navy Yard, whether they were naval personnel or civilian employees, should be concerned about the asbestos cancer known as mesothelioma. This is a rare cancer which affects the lungs and chest cavity, and which is almost exclusively linked to asbestos exposure.
