Mesothelioma Awareness Day

Mesothelioma kills 3000 people each year – the same number killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Three thousand deaths EVERY year, caused by asbestos. There is a bill before Congress that would finally totally ban asbestos in the United States. In recognition of National Mesothelioma Awareness Day, Sept. 26, we encourage support of the Bruce Vento Ban Asbestos and Prevent Mesothelioma Act.

Your video didn’t mention that the Senate version of the bill passed but with watered down regulations that would have compromised the goal of comprehensive asbestos legislation.

Thanks for getting involved. Unfortunately, this is another issue that rarely gets any attention in the media so it is going to take individuals like you to make a difference.

RIP Bruce Vento. I urge everyone in MN’s 4th district to contact Betty McCollum to champion this cause. I grew up in Bruce’s district and now reside in Arizona. I have written my member of congress, so should all of you.
